GRADING RESULTS - SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2010 WITH SENSEI GARY STEWART, 5TH DAN JKA NATIONAL SQUAD COACH, AT TAIRYOKU, NEAR AYLESBURY
Many congratulations to: Jacob Strange 9th kyu (orange belt), Reece Austin 9th kyu (orange belt), Hugh Mulley 8th kyu (red belt), Rupindar Millington 5th kyu (purple belt), Andrew Smart 5th kyu (purple belt), Harry Millington 3rd kyu (brown belt), and Alison Marchant-Jones 3rd kyu (brown belt). Everyone trained exceptionally hard in a long day. Our thanks to Sensei Gary Stewart for working us so hard - especially the "just one press up" - and Sensei Lester Wellington for hosting us at Tairyoku.

Grading with Ataru Club and Sensei Adel Ismail in Shefford on Sunday 11 October 2009
Sensei Ismail gave us all some hard training and then took the grading. Congratulations to Alison and Harry gaining 4th kyu, Jake 8th kyu, and Hugh and Livasha 9th kyu.
Report of our grading held in June 2009 in conjunction with Tairyoku SKC
Congratulations to everyone who passed - Alison and Harry 5th kyu, Andrew and Rupindar 3rd kyu, and Jake 9th kyu. The grading followed a hard training session with Sensei Ohta, and everyone tried very hard despite being exhausted!

Harpenden JKA visited the Tairyoku Shotokan Karate Club and after special training from Sensei Ohta a grading was held.
Congratulations to Rupinder and Andrew who gained their red belts (8th kyu) and Harry who passed his yellow belt (7th kyu).

CONGRATULATIONS! Grading 17 May 2008
Harpenden JKA students went to Tairyoku Club near Aylesbury for their grading. After one hour's training with Sensei Ohta, the grading took place with Sensei Ohta and Sensei Ismail.
The following were successful:

Charles Stevens - 8th kyu, red belt;
James Lannon - 8th kyu, red belt;
Harry Millington - 8th kyu, red belt;
Rupinder Millington - 9th kyu, orange belt.

Grading Results
Saturday 16 February 2008 Sensei Lester Wellington of Tairokyu Shotokan Karate Club invited Harpenden JKA to participate in the training course and grading with Sensei Ohta, Chief Instructor of JKA England, at Sensei Wellington's club in February.
After Sensei Ohta trained the higher grades in jiu ippon kumite and Jitte, coloured belts were put through their paces with basics and a selection of relevant kata. The morning continued with the grading and four Harpenden JKA students took their 9th kyu - orange belt - which is the first belt.
All students performed to a very high standard and successfully achieved their grades. Sophie was highly praised by Sensei Ohta and Charlie and James demonstrated impressive power and spirit in their gohon (five step) kumite.
